6 month old Elvis eyes are constantly dripping wet. I wash his face as directed in my Yorkie care book but nothing seems to help. Other than a perpetual wet face, he's in perfect health.

How is the hair kept around his eyes? Could his hair be getting in his eyes? If you don't cut the bangs or somehow keep the hair from getting into the eyes then the eyes will water a lot more.

His bangs and the hair between his eyes are kept trimmed. I'm beginning to think he is allergic to something.

				   | I used to feed Bailey Royal Canin for Yorkies and her eyes were running all the time. Our vet said it was most likely an allergy and to try switching foods.(Our vet quit carrying Royal Canin in her office because of all the health problems she saw with cats & dogs) I also keep the hair around her face short, wash her face daily with a wash cloth and use saline drops in her eyes occasionally. Good Luck!

I have the same problem with Jacoby. About a month ago I switched from Chicken Soup for the Puppys Soul to Wellness Puppy canned, thinking that it would make his tears go away. His face is still wet all the time, should I switch foods again??? How long would it take after I switch foods until we would notice a difference???

Our vet said to also try giving bottled water to see if it helped, she said chemicals in water sometimes make their eyes run. I would compare food labels to see what is listed. I would definately stay away from corn. Another allergy trigger is wheat and chicken. You'll have to experiment a little bit to see what works. Ask for samples and talk to the employees of the pet food store, they should be somewhat knowledgeable about the food they sell. I go to only two pet food stores in my area because of how much I have learned from them.
