| New Puppy and Diarrrhea My Emma is 9 weeks old and we have had her only 1 week. When we brought her home from the breeders she was eating Purina puppy and I wanted to switch her to a better food. I bought a sample bag of Artemis puppy and she loves it, but now her poo has been really soft. It was soft before but not this bad, and it's not getting any better. Do you think it is the food? What should I do? |

It could be the food but I never mess around with a pup and diarrhea because it can be serious. If I wasn't sure it was the food, the pup would be at the vet. Also, make sure she doesn't dehydrate.

| You shouldn't change a puppies food till after she is adjusted in her new home. Then you can only mix it with the new food you want to change her on and only a little bit at a time. Till she has no problems and you keep increasing the amt on her. If that is what you did you might need to have her to the vet and make sure something else isn't going on.

| The breeder only gave me enough food for one day and I didn't want to buy more since I knew that's not what I wanted to feed her. I don't think it's really diarrhea because she only goes 2 or 3 times a day after she eats. If it is the food how long would it take for her to adjust to it or should I take her off it right now? |

| sounds like you change food way to quickly..if hse only gave you food for one day (which is wrong in my opinion she should have given you much more) then you needed to buy that kind and they kind you wanted the puppy to be on. Then started gradually switching them..i think thats the problem with your puppy |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Sounds like to me, the food was changed too quickly. Did you change gradually. Always add a little of the new to the old before using the new one entirely! Hope things get better for you!
