Hydrogen Peroxide for teeth cleaning

my vet told me to use a gauze pad with peroxide on it and rub on lily may's teeth, he said that is the dog wouldn't let you do the inside of teeth, then just rub on outside of teeth, he said something about capillary action would get the inside of teeth. ( does this make sense?)

i found this online, i forgot where i got it.

Dog teeth health issues include tartar buildup, which can happen if your dog is drinking hard water. Tartar buildup leads to gum disease and possible tooth loss. You can remove tartar buildup from your dog's teeth by using a three per cent hydrogen peroxide solution or a one per cent hydrochloric acid solution. Use a rag and rub the solution thoroughly on the teeth.

An easier way to avoid tartar buildup issues is to give your dog a raw marrow bone periodically. The gnawing motion and the thoroughness of the dog's attention to chewing and delight in the activity scrapes away tartar. It makes a mess and outside is the best place for a dog and a bone. Do not use cooked bones, which can easily splinter.

oh.. i am super curious to this also.

I want to begin teeth maintenance, but i'm way too confused! How do you all do it?

(I tried brushing her teeth, but both pups dont let me near their mouths...its so hard).

I tried giving them raw meaty bones, but Jaya has a sensitive system and started throwing up and the vet told me 'no more' --so now im at a loss!

I have a gel that is used like tooth paste. I use a soft baby tooth brush. He HATES his teeth being brushed, I have to (This might sound really mean) hold his chin hair to get him to stay and hold still... some times I hold by his cheek also... It doesn't hurt him unless he is moving all over...He is pretty good about it and holds still most times now. He has learned it goes quick and painless if he doesn't fight me but it took FOREVER to get him to this point. i also had to force myself to do this very often so he got used to it.
