pregnant yorkie?? hi- i am a rookie to this, first time posting. Does anyone have any advice? I bred my yorkies 2x in Nov. In Dec on the 27th day after breeding the vet did a blood test on her which came out negative. He said though that timing was very important and that and also size of litter could be a big influence on that.Anyway around 36 days my Zoe starts to have a nice size belly and things have progressed since then. She is doing the waddle, huffing and puffing and it is harder for her to go up and downstairs, etc. I took her back to vet on Tues. which was 48 days since last breeding. Vet says he doesn't think he sees anything. He did mention false pregnancy but also said it could be too soon to tell. Just check her out now and she is wide, hard, and bigger.... Any ideas??

if your vet isn't doing ultrasounds, go somewhere where they do. That will tell you for sure if she is pregnant or false. Ultrasoundss show babies at 28 days after the mating.

Like Dee mentioned, you need to have an ultra sound done. By the 48th day, there should be no question as to if she is or isn't prego.

thanks for the reply, I did ask about ultrasound and the vet said the x-ray would determine the size of litter better but I'll have to ask him if he can do ultrasound, not knowing is making me crazy and she is so hungry I can't keep her satisfied.

An x-ray should have given a clear indication at 48 days as well...
