Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Has Anyone Tried the new Eukanuba Yorkshire Food ? I sure need some help here if anyone has tried this new food. I have been using Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 kibble for a couple of years now. Each of my dogs (7) intermittently has either bloody diareaha or just loose stools so I decided that the RC is to rich for them. They have very delicate tummies. So, this week I started to switch over to the new Eukanuba Yorkshire kibble. Tonight my entire house, and all the dog beds anr covered with barf...the 2 biggest of my Yorkies are so miserably sick and they have not had anthing to eat other than the food which is still mixed with the RC. Anybody have any experience with this food ? Would really appreciate any of your comments.

| I use Canidae lamb & Rice Formula. It is lower in Fat & Protein 2 of my 4 yorkies have sensitive tummies & this works great with them all. It is for All Life Stages (puppy to Adults) It is an Natural Food also. The kibble is small enough for puppies & adults.

| I don't like Royal Canin because it causes horrible itching in quite a few dogs and digestive upset. The ingredients aren't great either and it is way over priced for what you get. Eukanuba's ingredients are worse yet and it is an Iams product. Iams does very cruel, inhumane and unnecessary animal testing. They are a company I wouldn't want to support. Could you give them either plain yogurt and banana or possibly chicken and rice to settle their stomachs and then either homecook or switch to something like Canidae, Innova, Wellness?

| I am so sorry you are having sensitive tummy problems. We have an elderly Boxer with a very sensitive tummy -- and believe me when they barf it is MAJOR! I have been feeding Canidae All Life Stages for a little over 2 years now -- for all the furbutts here except for pregnant and nursing moms and young pups. Everyone is flourishing, has beautiful coats, tons of energy, no bad breath AND very little in the BARF department from the Boxer - usually that comes when she finds "snacks" outside. Good luck! |

| I had the issue with the bloody stools with RC too, it just was to rich for Bella, I have a Boston that was eating the Eukanuba small chiot and switched over to that and haven't had the issues again. I do want to switch to something different for her that is a better food but I'm having trouble figuring out what I want to switch too.

| I don't like the E. Nuba foods for my yorkie. I have Royal Canin and have NEVER had any problems with him. It has made his coat beautiful and the vets say he is in tip top shape. Maybe you can mix some brown rice or somthing with the RC food to tone down the richness factor. Also, when you switch their food it is never good to do a quick switch, you should always slowly faze out the old (sometimes I mix the old and new) until the old runs out and then afterwards use the new. By switching too suddenly it messes with their stomachs and digestive systems. Hope they are doing better. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Eukanuba Yorkishire Oh thank you Guys for all of your comments...Wish I had asked here before I even bought or tried it ! I was not aware it was a part of Iams and I certainly do not want to support that company. What I do is free feed the kibble and every evening I cook chicken breast for them and put it through the food processor. They get absolutely nothing alse except American cheese. It has been very hard to figure out this feeding situation. Actually my Vet recommended Purina O.N.E. which is a food I fed other Yorkies I had years back. I thought with all the specialty foods out now they would be better off but it does not seem that way. Thanks again.

| Like others have said, I too also heard RC and Eukanuba are not the best brands. I feed Innova but it may be hard to find, I was lucky to find it at a small pet store. Petco sells Solid Gold which I hear is pretty good?
