| counting yorkie calories Does anyone know how many calories a yorkie needs to maintain wt? I am feeding Bella Honest Kitchen and she loves it. I know there she is getting about 240 k/cal a day. She does get exercise but sometimes i think she is still hungry. I can feel her ribs but not see them. That was my vets recommendations. |

| You can do a search online for a chart. Ellie gets 182 a day post spay and extra to gain weight. You can probably just do it by look and feel though.

| Let your dog's weight, coat condition, etc. be the judge of how much she should eat. If she's too skinny, then it's okay to let her eat more

so, i have to prepare portions for her. i do use her wt as a guide but i dont want to waste food either so far so good. i think i am just going to feel honest kitchen once a day and leave he innova kibble out incase she wants something later. that has worked so far. she never eats more than she needs | |

| That's great!! My yorkie is the same way. He will only eat as much as his body needs and won't overeat but maintains a consistent weight I know what you mean. I homecook, so I know what you mean about figuring out portions. After awhile, it becomes second nature. Sometimes, if I don't give him enough, he will ask for more. These little guys are so smart
