| Stump Pyometra For those of you with females who thought by spaying them they would never get pyometra, please google "stump pyometra". I'm shocked. There is still a very small chance that after spaying Ellie she could still get this.

| I'm not really concerned with her getting it but now I can't say that if your dog is spayed she can't get it. I guess there are always exceptions to the rule.

| Yes you can. If a dog is CORRECTLY spayed then there is no chance of getting it. Only an incorrectly spayed dog would have a chance of developing it. I would say the risk is very very very minimal...and would only happen if your vet didn't do it right

| I guess you just have to trust your vet. I would hope the majority of vets know how to correctly spay a dog. The only uterine tissue that should be left is the cervix...the ovaries, uterine horns, and small uterine body is removed (just right above the cervix).
