				   | Hello! Linus is 6 months and scheduled to be neutered tomorrow. I'm having some last-minute anxiety because he only weighs 3.5 pounds, and it's scary to think about him being under anesthesia. Has anyone had their yorkie neutered or spayed weighing so little? Thanks. |

				   | Yes, my little girl was just 3#'s and she did fine. I was lucky to be in the surgery room while it was going on but we did not have one problem.

				   | I can sympathise with you, my Pixie is 6 months old and weighs a little under 2.5lbs and i'm too scared to even think about getting her spayed...and she will probably have to have some baby teeth out too but i'm holding out on that and hoping they all come out naturally.

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feel your pain. I waited until Marcel was 10 mths old to neuter - and he weighed 2.75 pounds at the time - and did GREAT, bounced back immediately. But, yeah, I was nervous!

				   | He should be fine. Over 2lbs should be safe. Just be sure an do the pre-op bloodwork and make sure your vet is familiar with tiny dogs

| Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I do recommend having the blood work done prior to the surgery. I think honestly it's about how strong your dog is that goes a long way. Lulu was a strong little girl and never had any hypoglycemic episodes etc so I wasn't worried.
