| Belly bands and UTI's? Hello all- I think Biscuit has a UTI (at least I am hoping this is the case) because he is drinking alot and needing to go out all the time. He has a vet appointment and I am trying to get a urine sample for when we go...... He wears belly bands from time to time and we are usually pretty good about changing them when he does have a rare accident. I geuss my question is, does anyone know of belly bands causing UTI's? This is my geuss of how he might have gotten it, I am pretty sure it isn't the food (he is on a raw diet). Also, do UTI's tend to cause them to drink more water? I am so worried about my little Boo bear, just wanted to pick you guys' brains a little bit. Thanks for any advice |

| With UTIs, you can see an increase in water consumption. I do not know about belly bands causing them but I would lean toward no. There are so many people that use them and if that were the caes, wouldn't babies in diapers get 'em?

| UTI's can cause an increase in drinking and peeing. I've often wondered myself if belly bands could cause problems. I was thinking more along the lines of rashes. If you think he has a UTI I'd take him to the vet.

| This is also a symptom of diabetes. Hopefully that is not the case. As far as belly bands go, mine wear them regularly and have had no problems with rashes or with UTIs.

I'm glad you are taking him to the vet. When is his appointment? I doubt it is diabetes. How old is Biscuit? Diabetes usually strikes older dogs (Lady was six). In cases of young dogs, they are usually unspayed females. | |

| It could also be a sign of liver issues...Hopefully though, it's just a UTI
