| we had a huge scare last night Gizzie stuck her little face in a fire ant bed she started whining and going crazy then my husband saw all the ants on her, mostly her face, so he put her under the faucet in the tub to get them off, after she just layed there she couldnt even hold her head up and her breathing was very faint.. I told him to check her gums and they were paper white so he gave her some Karo(i was on the phone coming home from work) and she eventually started to perk up a little, i can tell her face is swollen and she wasnt herself last night but she got some ham and cheese and she got to sleep in the bed with mommy and daddy so she was feeling a little better today

| I would be giving her some baby benadryl. I had that happen to one of my yorkies but we were off to the vet in a heartbeat! Fire ant bites are nothing to mess with. JMHO. Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

| I hate those ants. They really hurt. Maybe you'll have to give her some benadryl to help with the itches.

| That is so sad. I hate fire ants. You will have to watch her closely fro a delayed reaction if she had a lot of bites. Good Luck

| OMG! How scary! Have you checked with your vet? I would think she would need Benedryl as Brooklynn suggested. |

| We went through the same thing not long ago.. We were at my mom's sister house. And Cody was running around playing in their yard. and i picked him up and he had ants all over him. me and mom were frantically getting them off they were everywhere on his belly. that night i noticed 2 spots on him where he had been bit. i put some hydrocortisone cream on the spots and in a few days the spots were gone. Cody didn't seem to be bothered by him. didnt scratch them. I hope your baby feels better soon!! |
