| Angels Eyes and too much liver? I just bought a bottle of Angels Eyes for tear stains after reading rave reviews on it. Well, I found out it is made up of liver powder and I'm a little worried, as I've learned that too much liver can lead to vitamin A toxicity. I'm already giving him dried liver treats as well as treats that have liver in them. With Angels Eyes, I would have to give him a 1/4tsp of it daily for 3 months, and then reduce it to 4 times a week and then eventually only twice a week. Is this going to be too much liver intake for him? I've heard that they shouldn't have more than 3 servings of liver per week, but what constitutes as a serving? Do you think it would be safe to use Angels Eyes? Their website is http://www.angelseyesonline.com/. |

| I would not use it. It looks like 100% liver and that is something I wouldn't feed everyday. It can also falsely elevate AST and ALT levels which would make interpretation of a blood panel more difficult. The vet wouldn't know if the levels were up from the product or for health reasons. I will only use products that raise ALT if they are necessary. I'm sure there are peope who have had success with this though. It is really up to you...

| I used Angel Eyes for my maltese before. It produces great results. But you really shouldn't be giving it to them for more than a week or two. I know it says longer but the ingredient Tylan is an antibiotic and shouldn't be given for long periods of time because if your vet ever has to use it you dog will build up a immunity to it. But I have had no problems with it. But no I myself wouldn't give it if I was giving them other liver treats. Instead why don't you try to just get the Tylan? Angel Eyes is Tylan with the liver flavoring but if you look online you can just get plain Tylan to give to them, it is cheaper and produces the same results. Sorry I don't know any websites off hand that sells it but you could do a search for it.
