| I LOVE my vet..... ..I am feeling extremely grateful today.....yesterday I took my yorkie Millee to the holistic vet who is a ways out of town...she had a bulging infected eye.....all the fur kids generally get along but there was a toy issue and Millee got a bit agressive and there was a scuffle....only lasted a few seconds because I was right there but it scared me a bit and when this eye problem came up I remembered what had happened....the vet charged me $24 for the visit and $50 for a shot, antibiotic pills, eye drops and two viles of "pure remedy" pellets....he said to watch it and if no improvement he will refer me to an opthamologist....there was a roomful of people w emergency situations and horror stories of how they all took them to other vets and were charged outrageous fees and still had the problems, one lady had a year old dachsund wrapped in a blanket....he had gotten into the garbage and ate some materials that messed up his colon....their vet gave him a slim chance of survival but this vet operated and he is on the way to recovery....another had a golden who tore the pad of it's foot....one vet did not stitch it and she brought it to the same place and the next vet stitched it and charged a high fee for checking it every other day...and he still had problems....I could go on and on but this wonderful vet managed to get in all the emergency appts and it was like a mini reunion afterwards in the waiting room........everyone was so happy and full of hope....I could go on and on but this is long enough....my point was I am grateful to have my little one being cared for so well and that is priceless .........but it is a bonus not to have the added stress of how will I pay for the bills after this...........I know there are other dedicated vets out there who are devoted to our pets welfare.....have others had wonderful experiences??? |

| Sound like you found a gem of a vet. How do you find holistic vets?

| i am in the same boat. my vet is amazing and it is great to see that there are SOME vets out there that care about the animals first and foremost. when maggie broke her leg, we could have had several thousand dollars in vet bills. but he never charged me for any of my visits..he only charged for materials if i had to have the cast changed...or an x-ray done. also...any time i get a "worry", i go take maggie in, and he never charges. it's amazing to me..and every time i leave wanting to cry because i am so grateful.

| .........that is so awesome to know there are many wonderful vets out there....and when you know they truly care about the well being of your fur babies the stress is replaced by such a peace of mind........I look forward to ckg out these sites .........also to find a local homeopathic vet you may just find one in your local yellow pages.....and if they are good they will have a good reputation so you could ask around.......... |

| I love Ellie's vet. She does very well medically but just as important, she has the best personality. We have been there a lot lately and sometimes I just call instead. She is always so patient with that. Actually, if we have a serious problem and I don't want to wait for her to pick up her voice mail, I am supposed to have her paged. She talked to us for 40 minutes FREE when Ellie's bile acid test came back high. She consulted with an internist for us, so we wouldn't have to go there. When Ellie's liver biopsy went to the lab, it showed no MVD. Well, she wasn't satisfied with that and had the pathologist look again. She is the best.
