| How do you recognize low sugar? How do you know if your puppy has low sugar? I am very new to this and am unsure of what to look for? Also, is honey or corn syrup better in dealing with this? How do you administer it, how much and how often? Thanks! Lori |

Or you can buy some nytrical and give them some to prevent their sugar from dropping. It's available at pet stores.

| Lady is an insulin dependant diabetic so I am all too familiar with hypoglycemia! These are the signs in order of seriousness: lethargy (lack of energy) weakness head tilting "drunkedness" - wobbling when walking, unbalanced hunger restlessness shivering ataxia - usually lack of muscular coordination, but maybe changes in head and neck movements disorientation stupor convulsions or seizures coma Karo Syrup is good, but any sugar source will do - honey, pancake syrup, jelly, etc. anything high in sugar. Remember, though, this is just a quick "sugar fix" and he'll need real food as soon as possible. |
