| When to groom? Hi all, Lucy is 13 weeks this week. She has had kennel cough and been on antibiotics for the past week. I want to get her groomed. At what age do you start grooming? We met a groomer who comes to the house. I gave her a bath when we first brought her home but I want to have her hair cut out of her eyes, etc. Thanks in advance!

| I am bumping this up because I actually was wondering about this question myself. Luigi is about 3 months and I was also wondering if there is a particular age you need to wait for before you take them to a groomer? Do they have to have all their shots as well prior to taking them? And Kathy, I'm sorry to hear your puppy has kennel cough. I hope she is doing much better! And hopefully we can get an answer to our grooming age question

| I you are going to be taking Luigi to a groomer I would suggest that you wait until your puppy has received all of his shots. I took Roxie to get groomed for the first time when she was 4 months old. All of the groomers in my area require shots as well as the bordetella vaccine every 6 months. I would wait until Lucy gets over her kennel cough before getting her groomed. I hope she is getting better on the antibiotics. My little Roxie got kennel cough a month ago. I am not sure if the kennel cough was from the bordetella vaccine or the groomer. I think that it is great that you found a groomer that will come to your house. They look adorable after their first hair cut!! |

| Thanks. She is doing much better! She will be 4 months in a couple of weeks so I'll take her for grooming after she gets her shots then. Pamela - be sure to take pictures of Luigi's first grooming
