| Maddie needs help...dry dull looking hair I'm not sure what's going on with Maddie's hair lately. Its so dry, looks dull and just flys away. I've used cowboy magic, but it doesnt even seem to be working lately. She is getting matted really easy too. She has the dark black cottony coat. Its driving me crazy. She always looked so nice, so she looks dull and is in need of a make over...lol She is about 14 months old.Would love any advice I can get...Thanks |

| Try using something called Mane and Tail. They have shampoo and conditioner. I use it on my dog Freddy, it makes his hair real soft and easy to manage. You can find it at feed stores, or walmart in the pet section. Good luck!! |

| In my experience, the first thing I consider when my pet has a dull, dry coat is diet. Perhaps a change in food is in order? Or possibly supplement with some Missing Link and Omega 3 oil?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I love Sea Breeze oil on Chanel....there's also something sold in Sally's Beauty Supply called Proclaim Hair Glosser that's nice and light. BUT - you may want to switch shampoos to see if that helps |

| What do you feed Maddie? I am using minksheen for Bobbi and his hair is silky soft and shiny.

Just a FYI - if you use Minksheen on a cottony coat - you almost have to use a conditioner too, or they will look twice their size!!!! I would agree about the diet - has anything changed? Are you giving her any supplements? Which shampoo are you using now? | |

| Hormones could be the culprit as well. You'll notice a difference in the coat as she gets close to heat. Add a bit more fat to diet and see if that helps.

| Food and Diet play a big role... I think the food and diet that your dog is eating is playing a major role in the dullness of the fur. My Alyssa had dull fur until I switched to Canidae. Her fur took on a shine and she looks so much more healthy. Her allergies have gone away and whe is happy for a change. It could be the omega 3 that she gets. |

| have you changed her food/diet lately, especially now that she is over 12 months old? I know I have switched my dynamic duo to something more for their age . . . so no more puppy food for them See if that helps. Huggles to Indiana Maddie Jones |

| This time of year we use our airconditioners more. This will dry out the hair from what I have read. You can add some flaxseed oil to their food, this will help. I also use infusion conditioner, groomer reccomended it.
