| I would like to ask this as well. Sometimes it seems that once a week isn't enough...They can get kinda smelly! But I'm scared that I'm going to dry her skin out with more than once a week baths. |

| Can I use baby shampoo on her? She's still a puppy...Her coat is still really short. Does she need conditioner as well? I've been useing J&J baby shampoo on her since I got her, no problems so far. But if there is something better for her, I'd like to try. |

| Oh, and... Would bathing too often, just say twice a week, affect flea preventatives in any way? |

| Bathe mine with dog shampoo once a week.. but during the same week I refresh them with washing their bumm and just putting conditioner on the rest. that way I am not drying out their skin or hair but yet it refreshes them. So far so good for me.

| well on the box for flea preventatives, it says that they are "waterproof" and will last through baths and swimming. so a bath once a week is acceptable, i would say. and also my vet says that washing with just water and no shampoo wont dry out their skin as much. |

| yes, if you wash her too often she can have even more fleas cause fleas preafer clean hair. Anyway its better not to wash her more than every three weeks cause if you wash her more you are killing an oil that her skin produces and which she needs |

| Showdogs are bathed every 4 - 7 days, more when they are in the ring often. Just make sure that you use a good conditioner. Urine or dirt in the coat can do alot more damage than frequent shampooing.

| Cozy usually gets 2-3 baths a week sometime every day or only 1 per week. It all depends on her. She loves to roll in smelly things and dig in the dirt. I let her be a dog outside and a pincess inside which means no smelly dirty dogs in the house. Her coat is shiny and pretty manageable. Someone told me she would be a "rare" blue, whatever that is. Her back is black and the tips of her hair are a silver-blue color. Her legs and face blond. I always use a tearless puppy shampoo on her face and a regular doggie shampoo on her body sometimes with a conditioner and sometimes not. |

| Mine gets baths every 7-10 days depending on what they look and smell like. Using a good shampoo and conditioner will help them from getting dried out. |

| bathing i am new on YT [joined 2 days ago]. i was searching the web about my little guy's hair loss problem. he goes to the vet tomorrow. he's 10 months right now. when i first got him i also used J&J baby shampoo. later when he got fleas i got Proticall topical medication and some shampoo and conditioner from 1-800petmeds. my boyfriend says i washed him too much and that's why he's losing his hair. but i heard from others that it could be allergies. when i find out, i will tell you what the vet said about everything.
