| The baby shampoo could be drying his skin. I would try an oatmeal shampoo. My Spike has very sensitive skin. I have found CC Day to Day shampoo and conditioner and Plush Puppy Seabreeze oil help his skin a lot. Some people here have also had luck giving their dogs oatmeal baths. I think someone put Aveno bath in a wash bag and bathed her dog with that and had good luk with it. The baby shampoo does seem to cause problems because the ph is not correct for a dog's skin. Godd luck!

| I would also try an oatmeal shampoo. Is he so dirty from going outside? If so you may want to watch him a bit closer while he is out until is warms up a bit, and the air isn't so dry. The winter weather is really hard on anyones skin...

| I would try oatmeal shampoo for dogs. I just ordered cranberry fields dog shampoo from beyond spoiled but I haven't recieved it yet. It is supposed to be really good for their skin-the cranberry stuff is supposed to be healing and it has other stuff in there to help dry skin too. There is a thread started on it, search cranberry fields and see what comes up. Good luck. |

| Hi there, I would highly recommend you only use dog/puppy shampoo. Many vets I've taken Coco to confirm that the pH balance in human shampoo's, even if for babies, are very different than in animals and will cause itchiness, dryness and flaking. I use Bio-groom and LOVE it. I only have to buy one bottle because it's shampoo and conditioner in one. It smells great and works beautifully.

| I was told years ago that baby shampoo is terrible to use as it's way too drying. You can get an oatmeal shampoo for dogs just about anywhere. I've gotten it at Wal-Mart. It does a great job of relieving itchys. |

| I have read many times where people are actually bathing dogs in people shampoo. Dog's hair is totally different than human hair, so scientists have found just the right PH formula for dogs. Anyway, the most gentle of all shampoos would be Dr. Bronners liquid castile soap that's gentle enought for new born babies, people, kids AND pets. He even has eucalyptus and lavender oil. Those one repells fleas. http://www.drbronner.com/drb_sai_liquids.html |

| Oatmeal is moisturizing. Also are you putting your baby in a bath or showering him. If you are putting him down in water the way people take bathes the soap will not all rinse out making his skin dry & flaky, so you will want to use a shower or sink wand. Conditioner also helps get excess shampoo off the skin. |
