| What am I doing wrong? I bathe Queequeg every week in Pet Silk Moisturizing Shampoo and condition her with the cream rinse. I also make sure to brush/comb her twice a day. I brush her out with a pin-brush and spray Pet Silk Leave In Conditioner before doing so. Problem is her coat looks so beautiful the first two days then it's a mess. Not with tangles it just won't lay down and gets kinda "stringy". Should I change the product or the utensils I'm using? I've attached pictures of her right after her bath and then two days later. Am I just being too meticulous? She's 17 weeks old so is just the puppy hair doing this and it will get better? |

| Have you tried one of the small metal combs rather than the brush? Also, there might be a little too much conditioner in her coat. Maybe try diluting the conditioner a little and making sure to rinse very well.......

| Thank you LuvMySissy you gave me an idea. I am going to dilute the leave in I use daily with water and see if that helps. I rinse her several times after the conditioner sits so I know it can't be that. Especially, when she looks so great after a bath. I'm glad that her adult coat coming in is slick and lays flat. Her puppy coat has a whirl and wants to stick straight up all the time. Oh and I use a hard rubber fine tooth comb. |
