My furkids Donating Member | cheerios and brushing! I just gave the girls a bath...Sadie doesn't mind but Lillie must like to be stinky because she isn't easy! Lillie is 6 1/2 months old and COULD have a gorgeous coat...however...she HATES to be brushed and she is getting little matts.....it is such a workout for me just to brush her...I shampoo her with a conditioning shampoo and then condition her...I leave the conditioner on and TRY to brush out the matts...I get what I can out and then towel dry just a bit...then I brush again....She is like a worm!!! I wish I could drug her just long enough to brush out the matts!! LOL Well, I put some cheerios on the counter and it kept her busy so I got alot of the tiny matts out...My question....How many cheerios do you think would be too many? I think I would need the entire box to get her to sit still long enough to get her matts out! LOL...of course I don't give her alot but what do you think?

| Lol That's really funny!!! Who's training who? LOL. Have you tried that Cowboy Magic that's been talked about on here? I got a tube a while back from a farm, feed and horse store. It really is magic. Give it a shot, THEN give her the cheerios. |

Who's training who? LOL! that's what I'm beginning to wonder!!.I have tried CM on her. I can't say that I like it...I wet her down and put ALOT on her..massaged it in all her matts and starting combing...didn't work! I am using a conditioner made by Tropiclean...this seems to work great! I used this also...yes...after I tried to rinse out the CM! I left the conditioner on and combed her...this seems to work better ...(I washed her with shampoo before I put the conditioner on her)...I dried her a bit and continued to brush...this is when the cheerios came in...I gave her a few and started to brush and it was like she forgot what I was doing...as soon as the cheerios were gone it was back to beast baby again!! I think eventually I will have to puppy cut her...she could have a beautiful coat....IF I could brush her!...The little devil! Sadie on the other hand..(adult) just stands there and I brush away!...She's the good furchild! LOL Thanks for the suggestion!

| dont worry i use cheerios toooo,. as many as it take to finish.. i use them mainly to cut her hair and or use clippers and do her ears and feet.. works like a charm.... when she sees the grooming tools she runs right to me to pick her up to go on the counter

My furkids Donating Member | Thanks everyone! I didn't think that there was anything in cheerios that would harm them. But I would need the entire box just to get her brushed out! She is such a wiggle worm!
