| Water Softener? I'm curious as to what affects, if any, does a water softener have on a Yorkie's coat? |

| It would probably depend on what is used to soften the water. Some systems use salt and I would think this might cause dryness. |

| My hair and skin were never smoother , softer and shinier than when we had a water softener up north. The water down here is soft already and most guests remark on how nice the water leaves their skin and hair.

| Oh my...I forgot to check this thread! I was wondering if it would dry their skin and coat but it sounds like it won't. What would a water softener use besides salt? |
