| She scratched until she broke her coat! I just wanted to mention something that I think caused Autumn to scratch so much. She was in heat and my male kept peeing on her. We had to leave suddenly for a week and when we got back she had most of her coat broke down to about 2-3 inches. When I saw her scratching so much I put some Frontline on her but she just kept scratching and scratching. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I usually just bathe my dogs once a month so I don't wash out the natural oils. I finally remembered that my male had peed on her and she has stoped scratching since I gave her a bath. If you wonder why I didn't notice a smell, it's because I put baby powder on my bed and sometimes on my dogs. They seem to like it. But the point is that if your dog is breaking their coats, maybe somebody peed on them. Sylvia |
