| Anyone groom their YorkiePoo with curly hair? I am looking for advice on learning how to do all of the grooming for my YorkiePoo. I have found lots of great tips and advice on here for Yorkies that could also apply to her. However, her coat is much more curlier, like that of her poodle side. Any tips, advice, or suggestions from anyone who has groomed a YorkiePoo or dog with a similar coat? Thank you in advance

| I am not sure what you want but I have a yorkiepoo but her hair is not curly, it is straight with only a slight wave at the ends. I do have a cocker though and her hair is all curls. I am not sure what you want to know though. Do you want her hair to be straighter or are you trying to figure out how to trim her????

| I am sorry that my question was not clear. Yes, I am looking for help on how to trim her. I bought clippers and things yesterday. We managed to take some off, but I need much more practice and information on how to do it the correct way!

| Since it is summer I give mine a shorter but cute look. I leave the ears and legs curly and shave the rest of the body. I leave about a 1/4 of an inch of hair on the body, so it is not long but not totally shaved to the skin. It is a cute look and it is a cooler cut for them especially for summer. I wish I had a picture to show you, but I don't, I will have to take one of her sometime when she is clipped. I am not sure if this helps or what you have in mind???

| hoping to revive this thread... hey there, i'm hoping to revive this thread. i see it's old.. i've been googling for grooming ideas for Smokey Bones. can anyone with yorkiepoos with curly hair post pics here, so i can see some different yorkiepoo grooming styles? (or should i make a thread in the picture forum?) i don't want to give smokey a poodle cut. don't really like that style. everyone says that yorkiepoos can be cut however you want, because they're a designer breed, but i'd love some ideas. |

| Winston after groomers Winston got a puppy cut, just around face. He has curly hair, but it's soft, not wiry. |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Take to the groomer I have managed to do the yorkie, but the yorkiepoo no way. Once I get a table and shaver from Santa I am going to try again. I know on thing you have to have a good pair of scissors or they look choppy. I hope Santa gives me a shaver with different blades, I think that is the secret. I will keep you posted, because I would like to be able to groom them myself also. Hugs Mary |

| Did you ever get any good pictures to help you with your grooming problem. I am in the same boat. I have a yorkie-poo with curly hair also. We had a groomer who we liked, but never took any pictures. Now she is no longer grooming, and I am going to another groomer who is asking me how I want her cut. I'm not sure exactly what to tell her. Any assistance would be helpful. Thanks. |

| I am having my Moses, who is 7 months old, groomed tomorrow. When he was younger, he had curly black hair. I made the mistake of having Petco groom him and they cut his hair pretty short. Now it's fuzzy and no longer shiny or curly, except on his legs and chest. Does this mean this is his adult fur and he will not be curly again? He is a yorkie poo... |

| I like the puppy cut for my yorkiepoo. His hair isnt too curly but has a wave to it and if I let it grow too long it just looks silly. If you have your own clippers they say the size 8 blade is the "terrier" blade used for the body and face. I use a size 10 to get around his eyes and trim the hair on his ears (careful here as you can nic the ear easily) I trim his beard with a pair of scissors to a round shape to get the puppy/teddy bear look. Personally I like this much more than the 'poodle cut', even poodles hate that look!
