| Is it too late to start? Our Lola is 20 weeks old. I have shaved her ears myself a few times (they were not standing when we got her) and she hates it. I try to hold her down or have my hubbie hold her, but she freaks out as soon as the clippers go on. She hates the noise! I can't even get to her bum or the pads of her feet. I don't want to freak her out but I really want to try to groom her myself, at least those three parts. How do you get the to stay calm and not squirm away. She is so squirmy that I can't hold her and the trimmer. Thanks!

| Mine do better when I put them on the grooming table instead of trying to hold them. No grooming table, just put on counter. Also try putting some peanut butter or can cheese on table, takes their mind off the clipper while they are lapping up the goo. |

| It's not easy at all... I am not sure I have heard of ANY yorkie who LIKES the sound of clippers, lol!! Try wrapping her firmly in a towel or blanket. You have the right idea, it is definitely a two person job. Make sure she gets a treat immediately after you are done, and praise praise praise! Although Wosie hates it mightily, she knows she will get a treat after grooming, so she has begun to tolerate it a little more. GOOD LUCK!!

| Turn on the clippers and turn them around backwards. Rub them all around her. Let her hear them and sniff them so she will realize that they won't hurt her. She will get used to them.

| I have not done this yet because I have become very good friends with the breeder I bought my guy from and she has done it for me. I am wanting to do it but I am afraid I will cut my guy. What type of trimmers are you guys using and will it cut him if I am not careful? The breeder I got him from said she recommends the "Wahl peanut" since it is small and powerful. Any other suggestions or tips for me?
