| Weirdest matted hair. So I've been combing and brushing Flint often. I feel bad though because I thought I was feeling something like matted areas at his legs but when I combed the way his hair grows, I got nothing. Low and behold, comb opposite direction and there they were! The matts are only up closer to his skin and I have to comb the opposite way of his hair growth to find them down in there. It literally took an hour on the bathroom floor with him in my lap to find and comb them all out. Thankfully he did really well, even dozing off at times. |

| It's that fine puppy hair, matts easily and fast especially near the skin. Brush & comb daily should avoid matts.

| You might want to get some Cowboy Magic. You can buy it at Chewy.

| What is cowboy magic? What kind of brush do you suggest for a new puppy (I won’t get him until April when he’s about 10 weeks, but I’m a planner 😄 thanks! |

I have used the Madan brushes for my pups for several years. Check them out, I think the different colors are for certain needs.

Cowboy magic is a detangler. They make other products but that is the only one I have used. I used it for a pup I had years ago but have not had a need for it in recent years. For shampoo and conditioner, I use two products. I have found that some work better on some dogs than others. http://petsilk.com - I personally love their "Clean" scent but they have many. Their shampoo and conditioner are awesome! http://puccicafe.com has some wonderful shampoo and conditioner, too! I use the Cucumber Melon scent and totally love it. They are also very rescue friendly and donate 5% of sales to rescues. For brushes, I have used Madan in the past; but now use Chris Christenson. I find the CC pin brushes are not as sharp on the ends. You can find the CC ones on Amazon....or many other sites. Not sure about Madan. There was a YTer who used to sell them. She may still be around.
