I'm horrible at putting bows in!!

I saw a video once of how to put one in using a steel tail comb. But of course, now I can't find it. Does anyone have a link to that video? ANY other suggestions are welcome. Mine always come out crooked & my poor pups have to sit in the top knot pillow for 20 minutes every time I attempt to put one in.

Teresa, I'm fairly certain the rat tail comb is used just for parting. I'm on my phone right now but once I get to my computer I'll see what I can find.

I thought I saw a video where the "tail" of the comb was used in the back of the top knot to secure the band. The band was wrapped around the tail & then pulled out at the end. I could be imagining it though...I watch so many Yorkie videos that my mind could have jumbled things up. Lol. I just can't seem to get the bow on right.

I'll have to look up "Top Knots for Dummies" and see if I can find anything.

Hmm, I use a crochet hook when my fingers hurt too much (arthitis!).

Thanks so much!! I've been trying to search for the video I saw. I'll post it if I find it. But both the link & hemostat video are really helpful! I guess I just need more practice. I'm lucky that Prima is so patient with me

Thank you soooooo much for posting this video....using hemostats to put a bow in is going to make my life sooooooooooo much easier!!! Gout and occasional arthritis and just plain fat fingers, makes it impossible for me to get bows in my girls hair....this is a God send!!!!

I tried this technique the other day. It takes a bit of practice. I do understand why the owners call this the dead butterfly; it's TOUGH to get it back out. Even with my teeny scissors it was difficult to unwrap.

On the plus side, it did stay in well and didn't twist around.
