So mad. I requested this day off of work weeks ago. I found out just now that I have to work 8-5 that day. Now I get to reschedule...:mad::thumbdown

Well, I guess I'm not getting this cut for Mandie. It has been decided for me. Men are too funny. They don't want little dogs and then they fall in love. They don't want "fru-fru" dogs but then they won't let you cut their hair because "Yorkies are supposed to have long hair. I don't want her looking like that." Oh and..."Do you know how slow her hair grows?"

I couldn't believe it! Not only did the MAN not want her hair cut but he knew enough to tell me that it grows slow. LOL

That is what my DH said too but he dont clean the puke, poo or dingle berries. He doesn't do the leaning, bathing or grooming either. So, he dont get a say in what I do. LOl :D

Terri, I think Mandie would look cute in that cut. I've been doing Ruby for two years now and I love it.

Yeah, mine doesn't do any of the grooming or cleaning either but she is "Daddy's Girl" so I'll let him say how her hair is....for now....if it gets too hard on either of us this summer, it WILL get cut lol

I use Dream Coat too, btw. It's done wonders for my Morkie. She was a rescue & had a really wirey, brittle coat. It's not a silky Yorkie coat now, but it's a zillion times better than it was. I'm not positive it was the Dream Coat, it might have been her change in diet overall. But I'm still using it.

hehe that is too cute. jason told the groomer not to cut cedric ear hair on the outside to short. ...hes obssessed with it being long!! haha. they have their likes for sure!!

My DH has his favorites for sure but it still comes down to me and the need to do what is best for each dog and for me to keep my sanity. :D I just got done giving Quincy a snorky cut. It is easier on him and me. He's older and not as easy to deal with when it comes to grooming any more.

You are very welcome Terri, I will be ordering some very soon. Hoping that it can help with allergies with my two.

When Ralphie first got the cut, his leg hair was on the short side, but even then it looked great. One of the reasons I love this cut is that it shows off their bodies, I just love the way a fit Yorkie's body looks.

Apt for Tuesday is back on!!! I'm doing lots of extra snuggling with her while she still has that pretty silky hair.

Idk, I bought clippers last year (or the year before, lol) and I just can't bring myself to actually use them! I keep thinking they're little dogs, is it really all that much trouble keeping them in full coat?

Carmen, Luma looks like my Tinkerbell. She's a bit wavy, but if I comb her out and blow dry her at the same time, and use some finishing spray, her hair comes out straight. I don't think Luma looks bad at all, she's very pretty.

And Terri, have you tried just trimming the ends on Mandie's coat? I do this with all mine and I swear it makes their coat grow faster. I have to trim 1-2 inches off of Peek A Boo's coat every month!

I may give them a Joey cut this summer though just for their comfort, but I haven't made up my mind yet, lol!

Well, in places. I mean, I have trimmed her ears and I trimmed her skirt to try to even out how that old schnauzer cut is growing out. I have trimmed around her feet, of course...and down her hind-side. I only trimmed her skirt last week though. That is the first time I have touched her body hair since I got her. Hope you are right and it makes it grow :)

Okay, Tuesday AM, I will be dropping Luma off at the groomer and then bringing Rosie right up the road at the vet for her 3rd puppy boosters. Then back to groomer for Luma in her new haircut!!! Wooo! I'm excited now. :) I hope it looks good on her!

I have an appointment for Tuesday too. It's Yoshi's first grooming since his bum got nicked by the clippers :( It's a different groomer this time, but I'm still biting my nails. Can't wait to see Luma's new cut!

Taycie also has this cut and I LOVE it! I did the long hair thing for about 9 months... I got tired of it. She is a tom boy and loves to romp around in the mud and dirt. By day 3 she looked like she had not been bathed in months. She also has a modified coat so she mats really easy. She really couldn't wear clothes because she would just mat right up!

Now! No mats and I love it! So easy to care for and if she takes a romp in the mud, it's much easier to clean her up mid bath!

Is her leg hair thin but left long? I am concerned about this cut not looking right on Luma, like an unfinished buzz cut. Her leg hair is thin and not as long as her saddle hair bc I cut it myself last yr.

When I cut Ruby in this cut I alway cut the saddle to the same length as the longest hair on her leg hair so she dont look too mis matched or unfinished. If she looks unfinished you can always cut it yourself to even it out. You just hold her leg out (forward) find the longest hair (typically) toward the back of her leg and than see how it compares to the saddle. If uneven just cut straight along her sides and angle it downward (so it longer) when you get about three inches away from her back legs.

Or just inspect her before you leave the groomers. If you see something your not happy with, have them fix it before you leave.

Okay, not to be a tease (I can't take pics right now) it looks SO GOOD on her!! I was so worried it wouldn't look right with her having silky, thin leg hair but omg! It really shows off her body. Makes her look even taller. She is velvety smooth and they did exactly what I want.

I did forget to tell them not to shave her tail so she has a little stub...LOL but other than that, wow!

I also picked up the cutest dresses from their boutique section...couldn't help myself. Pink with a pink & green polka dot bow, peter pan collar, and ruffle layered skirt. And it comes with matching pink ruffle panties. I got a size S for Luma and matching XS for Rosie. It doesn't fit Rosie but they didn't have an XXS and she'll grow into it.
