I'm sorry to hear about Turbo's ear and I hope it clears up quickly. |

KJC may deserve more credit for talking about different thickness of brushes/combs. Definitely work on getting the red yeasty stuff off of the hair. I also wanted to mention that SPA facial wash is good at cleaning stains, yet gentle on the eyes/tearfree. Ladysmom recommended it. Her girl had eye problems and staining. |

I'll look into the SPA facial wash. So far, I'm just using bottled water. Which raises another question. Do I need to blow dry her face to get rid of all the moisture? Or is OK to let it air dry after blotting with cotton balls and combing? |

I would continue blotting with cotton balls and save the hair dryer for bath day, unless her beard and mustache are really wet from being out in the snow. Too much hairdryer can lead to hair damage and more breakage, plus you don't want to overdo it near the eyes. |

Does using a cold air blower cause damage like that of a regular hair dryer too? |

Since my boys are mere pets :), I use a warm dryer on them during the winter for comfort, but I avoid the face. |

So I comb the hair from the corner of the eye across the bridge of the nose to the corner of the other eye. It's there that I get confused. Which side of the nose does that hair end up on? It doesn't end up on the other side from the starting point, does it? I tried that and it looked like she had an X on her nose. I'm guessing I comb it down and then back to the same side as her eye? Yours truly, Clueless. |
1 Attachment(s) I think Cathy was talking about parting the hair, drawing a straight line from eye corner to eye corner. First part (green line) across bridge of nose, from eye corner to eye corner. Top part goes into topknot. Second parting in hair, straight down bridge of nose (red line). (Poor Teddy looking sad after a bath): Attachment 380698 |

Elvis' nose hair parts funky on the sides of his nose in two parallel lines while the hair in top of his muzzle goes straight up-well it did before not now-a nightmare to retrain it as it hust grew that way. |

And LOL, I wasn't even close to understanding what she meant! Oh, and an update. I'm still just cleaning with water twice a day and combing it out. She's looking MUCH better. The hair is staying out of her eyes much better. The only hitch is the hair is so damaged from 3 years of gunk abuse that it's difficult to comb. Kinda scraggly, even when wet. Some hair is coming out in the comb. Not much, but it will probably add up quickly. |
