| Grooming routine tips please Hey I am just wondering what are some of your "must haves" when doing your daily grooming on your little ones? For example the best conditioning sprays and such? Best combs and or brushes? Best Shampoos / Conditioners? Wipes? Any oils or anything? And what is your grooming routine exactly? Just wanting to give Rudi the best of what the little guy needs Still learning a lot in the way of this since our other little one is a slick coated doxie ha ha. Rudi's coat is fairly silky not really very cotton like at all. He does not usually get mats unless I leave certain clothes on for more than a bit. I appreciate any tips!!

I like Yorkie Splash and Shine and Yorkie Sheen (Detangler) I also like Chris Christensen and Minksheen Best comb and brush Madan! Madan! Madan! The comb and brush are a must! (Jenny is awesome!) My grooming routine is a twice a day brushing with their comb and brush. I use the Yorkie Sheen as a detangler. Rosie has to be brushed twice a day. But Mikki can go once a day.

I love love love YSS products. Love love love them! I also like (but not love) the Nootie products from PetSmart. They're nice to have to switch up the scent (but it doesn't last) and they're made in the good ol' USA. I adore my Madan brush from Jenny. I love it so much, it's MY brush now. Kaji doesn't have long hair so I mostly use his Insinis brush. (I got it from Amazon) Little reminder, spray the conditioning spray on the brush, not the coat!! That's a tip that I learned from a show breeder here on YT. I also have the Madan mustache comb.

| Yorkie Splash and Yorkie Shine | Yorkie Shampoo and Yorkie Conditioner here you go! The creator is YT member WalnutHill. I think you can PM her for more information. Did I say petSmart for Nootie? I meant PetCo. Oops! I think you don't spray directly because you'll get it concentrated in one area of the coat. With the brush, it seems to distribute evenly.

| I love my Maden Pin Brush from Jenny. I use the Pet Silk Shampoo and Conditioners and Leave in Conditioner which I use daily to brush them with. I did how ever today just receive the Chris Christensen Ice on Ice spay on to brush with. I just used it and I love that as well. I brush twice a day. Well sometimes more if they get leaves in their hair from being outside. I brush before they come in the house.

I have three Madan brushes from Jenny. I had purchased one for Morgan but I quickly stole it from her. LOL so i purchased another one for Morgan, but i stole that one too. I keep one in my closet for blow drying my hair and the other in the bathroom. SO, i bought a third brush for Morgan and...well...I bring that one to work with me. hahahaha Morgan has a cottony coat and i find that pin brushes don't do a great job on her hair anyway. As far as my grooming routine goes its pretty simple. I bathe her once a week, blow dry, and comb her out. Repeat in one weeks time. I don't brush or comb her any other time. Her hair right now is about 2.5 inches long on her body and 3.5 on her legs. she looks like a giant poof ball because Mommy (that would be me, the professional groomer) is too lazy to groom her own dog. hahaha As far as products go, Right now I am using Green Groom Green Clean Shampoo. I'm really liking it. It smells fabulous and leave her hair super soft. Its also all natural, soap and detergent free and comes in a 100% recycled plastic bottle. I also usually spray Chris Christensen Ice on Ice on her after towel drying and massage it throughout the coat before blow drying. Here she is last night after her bath using Green Clean

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | They're for dogs, but i don't care. I love the way they feel when I brush my hair. I have the pink one for blow drying and the dark blue in the bathroom for when I get out of the shower.

| I use all the Yorkie Splash and Shine products. They work great and smell wonderful. I have the small Madden pin brush and I have to say it doesn't work well for me and Gracie. It's not that it isn't a nice brush but Gracie is on the small side and her coat is fine and silky. I prefer a smaller brush. I also find the tips of the Madden to be too sharp for Gracie's skin. I do like the Inisis brush though. I have a 7" metal comb for her body and a 4" moustache comb for her face. Don't think I could groom her without those. Also round tipped scissors for around her face and feet. I do intend to get some electric clippers when I figure out which ones would be best for what I would use them for. I use the Yorkie Splash and Shine spray detangler on Gracie's ends between baths when her ends get kind of dry and tangle. I spray her top knot with a really fine mist of water when I am taking it out to prevent breakage when combing through it. I have yet to find a really good toe nail clipper that is the right size for her little nails. |
