| ![]() What do you think is a really good detangler please? Both for brushing out knots & for helping prevent them. I've owned lots of long haired dogs, as well as Yorkies, but I've never, ever had one as bad as one of my current little ones for tangling up. He gets brushed & combed every day but I only seem to need to turn my back & he's tangled again! I don't know what he does overnight....bed head hair isn't in it! He has a long coat & I don't really want to have to cut it short as he looks gorgeous when it's right, plus it's cold & he feels it. I'm currently using Ice on Ice but wondered if there was anything you thought better as it doesn't seem to be keeping it that smooth. |

| ![]() My Rosie has the long hair as well. I tried the Ice on Ice too. It was ok, but just not exactly what I wanted. The best I have found is Yorkie Sheen. I buy the large container to fill up my small container. And a little bit goes a long way. You can get at Yorkie Sheen - Yorkshire Terrier Detangler / Coat Conditioner It also has a nice scent that seems to last longer than any of the others I have used.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Any good human hair conditioner, watered down makes a good detangling spray. I also use Crown Royale detangling spray....don't think it works any better than the above mentioned, but I do like the scent and the concentrate bottle has now lasted 3 years.

| ![]() Thank you for the suggestions. Yes, I find the Ice on Ice just doesn't seem to help much too. I'll see if I can find a stockist over here. |

| ![]() I use a dab of Pet Silk Silk Serum for detangling on Teddy. A lot of people like Cowboy Magic or simple corn starch (apply dry to dry hair). Anything that gives the hair a little slip. I use Vellus Anit-Stat for general brushing, but I am always on the look out for a good spray...and I am going to be trying a few new ones soon.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | ![]() This is a really good tool for getting out tangles. There are several types, just be careful not to get the one that has sharp razors. Those ones will cut the hair. Not to be confused with the de matting/de tangler type. Also very important to only use it on wet hair like after a bath or wet by use of a spray bottle.

| ![]() Thank you for all those suggestions. I'll see which I can get, you seem to have a much wider selection than we do here. |

| ![]() My yorkie never matts but my maltese is just like your little one. I brush her and she just goes out and run and comes back nicely matted ![]() I use cowboy magic to get any matt out. It also helps in preventing matts. It is a horse product but works so good with my girls cottony hair.

| ![]() Hi, I have 3 dogs in very long coats at this time I'm using Wow from Laser Lites, it is a great conditioner for daily brushing and getting out the mats, I add also 1-2 caps in the final rinse it is a great help. I'm using also K9 Competition. I would like to try Cowboy Magic but I still can not find it. Have a nice day! |

| ![]() Boots coconut & almond leave in (people) conditioner works well as a detangler and it doesn't leave a sticky residue. Has a nice light smell too, not strong.
