| "Lazy ear" Hi, Bella is 11 weeks and her left ear is a bit lazy and the tip is falling rather than standing erect. is there something I should do so it wont fall completely? I dont like falling ears on Yorkies. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Keep the hair on the upper 1/3 of her ear shaved down. Yorkies ears should be groomed this way and it will help a slightly lazy ear stay erect. If shaving doesn't remedy the floppy ear, you can try taping the ear.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | No...don't use a man's razor (unless your skills are much better than mine). I like and use a Wahl Peanut trimmer. Amazon.com: Wahl Professional 8685 Peanut Classic...

| You can also use a mustache trimmer too. If that does not work - try tapping the ear. Their ears may go up and down while teething, so important to keep weight off of ear by trimming hair off tip. There are some great directions on line now on how to trim yorkie ears. Best of luck! |

| OMG!!! ok so i made a thread maybe a week ago about erect ears and floppy ears... Well this is the trick.. give her a teaspoon of ALL NATURAL yogurt... Someone on here told me that and both of Max's ears were standing up by the end of that day... It has worked for numerous people you should try it, but make sure the yogurt doesn't have ANY artificial flavors (they can be very harmful to your baby). Yea and you should still shave the tip of her ears, and massage it upwards (it helps blood flow)... there are a lot of little tricks that can work.

Yorkie Talker | I think my Alphie is destined for droopy ears. He is now 8 months old and still both tips flop down. But I guess it doesn't really matter. The groomer said his ears were, well, a little.....large. He would just look a little more "Yorkie-ish" if they were erect.....oh well. |
