| shampoo for dog with environmental allergies? Chip has environmental allergies and the vet wants us to give him a bath once a week in this prescription shampoo and he takes zyrtec every night. The bottle costs about $30 for just 8 ounces, so I was trying to see if and what others use on their dog's with allergies for maybe a cheaper alternative that will still help him. I don't mind spending the money, I just was hoping for a bigger bottle for that price.

| I'm not sure. They didn't tell me the name of it, just recommended it. It didn't sound completely necessary cause the vet was just like "Finish what you have now, then buy this." Both boys are going to the vet today, so I can find out for sure then.

| Well my dog Daisy has severe environmental allergies. I've used Maleseb shampoo in the past (from the vet). I don't use anything but mild shampoo and conditioner on her these days and she does ok. I would think a mild oatmeal shampoo would be soothing.

| That's what I was thinking, just an oatmeal shampoo should be okay for him. He's not really that bad, he just gets these black scabby things around his little boy area and he gets itchy and stuff.
