That first step fear is a killer isn't it!! I was almost physically sick the first time I cut Jada and Bogie's hair and that was just trimming them when they were in full coats. It does get easier the more you do it.

You did a super great job!! Maddie's new cut looks awesome!! I was scared too the first time I did Tila's hair. The first is always the scariest, it'll be a breeze from here on in.

Hey long time--how are ya? Thanks--shes alittle ruff, but not to bad--i remember your pics of Tila's first time, you did awesome. Tila has a thicker coat than maddie and i was afraid it wouldnt "puff" as well on maddies face. but it did pretty good. it looks funny without maddies hair put up yet this morning--her topknot hair is the longest thing on her body. DDumbH keeps telling her how funny she looks--i told him to go look in the mirror (and i still keep him around)

Hi. I'm good, how have you been? You did a great job on her hair. I looked back at my pictures awhile ago and Tila's first cut was a little wacky. lol. Her face was a bit uneven. But it's a start. It's so much easier now, it doesn't bother me when I do her hair. Maddie's face looks awesome. It puffs out nice. She's beautiful. I'm taking Tila in for a grooming in a couple weeks for a spring cut. To get it done better at the back of her head. I haven't mastered that yet. Pretty soon you'll be a pro at cutting Maddie's hair. Since I started doing Tila's, I've had to cut my sister and dad's poms as well. Now that's a lot of hair. lol

i love the fact that i can put clothes on her this morning and her hair isnt a messy mess underneath. and it raining here again, shes gone out and gotta alittle wet,and doesnt look like a ungroomed,unbathed dog when she came in. alitte towel dry and good as new. i think she might be alittle happier to, the new doo is starting to grow on me. i love her round puffy head.

What a great job you did. My clippers were just delivered so I have to gather my courage now. Did you do the toe pad hair as well? I am afraid of doing that and I need to keep up with it on Buster. Maddie looks so cute!

Thanks. Yes i have always done her pads and toes,as well as shave the top 1/3 of her ears and trim up her girly parts. thats the easy part for me. it was shaving her back and trimmin her legs. but i think the hardest was trying to round her face. but now that i have done it--it doesnt bother me to keep up on it--the fear is gone. just take alittle at a time and that way it grows back faster if there is a opps. You CAN do it---it took me 3 months to build up to it, and its not that hard the fear is what stops ya.

I think you did a great job on the cut! I still haven't gotten over the fear yet!

Also, I can't believe you find trimming the girly parts easy - I'm so afraid I'm going to hurt her.

i use my clippers with the smallest guide attachment on it. maddie lays on her back and that helps, and then i use the same gaurd to go around her bottom alittle under her tail. pretty easy and no worries about cutting her.

Looks great to me - especially for a first time groom attempt! You will get better each time so in a month you should be a real pro with this good a start!

Thanks for the advice! I've been scissoring around her girly parts, and it always scares me! I will be using the clippers with guard next time.
