| I have always used the same over the years and I think it's name may have changed. It is now called "Fresh 'n Clean" by Lambert Kay and I think a small spray can is about $12.00. Comes from Canine Commissary in Dallas, Texas.

| Scent and its associations Oh, to me it has always been the dreamiest smell for a freshly bathed and brushed dog, but then I have a history with this scent. I am very poor at describing smells but it is not citrus or very musky. It is more like a combo of baby powder, maybe some vanilla and orchids or something flowery. I recall when I was very young and all the sophisticated women in Dallas were walking around with their highly coiffed, beribboned miniature Poodles on jeweled leashes, their dogs all reeked of this scent!!! To me, then, as a young person, and even now, it was/is an ultra-sophisticated yet very soft, clean, slightly flowery, sweet smell. I am pretty sure that it had a different name back then. As soon as I grew up and got my first Poodle, I went straight to the Pet Boutique in our local shopping center and bought that dog cologne! It WAS such a status symbol in Dallas, Texas back then to have a dog redolent with this scent - so it is a smell associated with my childhood in Dallas, fancy dogs with their fashion-conscious owners owners trailing through the aisles of Neiman's and and the fun of having your very first fancy Poodle all your own walking right behind them. My childhood associations probably do have a lot to do with why I love this dog cologne. Thing is, once I found my first Yorkshire Terrier in 1978 and fell in love with that breed and all the terrier lore, I forgot all about this cologne and went years without it, using more sporty scents on Scotty. Then, after getting Jilly, I was shopping for a cologne for her, saw the name of "Lambert Kay" on a can, sprayed it in the air and was instantly transmitted back to those halcyon days, I knew I had to have it again for my dog. I use it even now that I have a male Yorkie. Now, Tibbe is no girly-dog! He is all he-dog and terrier at heart but I still have to use this cologne on him because it is just so "right" for me to have a dog that smells this way.

| When I first got Sophia six years ago I tried several high end grooming products. One was Vellus. I had the spray cologne from them and loved it. I ordered some more today. But, I am still going to check out all the other scents too! A girls gotta have options when it comes to cologne!

| Well, despite my old fav, I am open to anything that smells good for a change. What does Vellus smell like? That Cotton Candy sounds scrumptious!

| Oh, it really is. That smell may be horrible to others but it was sooooooo popular here in Dallas during that great time of growing up that I can't evaluate it really properly. My dog just has to smell that way - that is all. I did go without using it for a time but that was during my "independent" years but later, that familiar smell just lured me back.

| I totally agree! Great story! Looks like Petco might carry it, I'll check it out. Vellus....it's been so long since I smelled it, after I get it in I'll write a good description...want to make sure I do it justice! Off the top of my head I'd a very clean scent... Reminds me of the way really good conditioner can smell.

| Well, you have got me interested in both other scents from this thread. Love conditioner smell!!!!! I am a lover of all good scents and probably do need to try something else occasionally. It's not like I don't have my old, wonderful standby for when I just need for my dog to smell like that. Tibbe is really good about being sprayed with it - just stands there and lets me spray him, shorts when I'm done. Jilly would snort and snort and snort and try to bolt the whole time I was spraying and snort a good deal more when done. Funny what the dogs think about how they smell!
