| When is a coat considered a cotton coat? Trinity is 7 months now. I have not had her cut at all. I have no idea what a cotton coat is but it looks cotton compared to her rescued brothers. They are shiny and smooth. She has no glossy shine at all. She looks more fluffy to me. Is this a puppy coat or what she will always have???

YT 1000 Club Member | Natalie has a cotton coat. Her coat feels and look like cotton and it also mats really easily. I have to brush her daily which I didn't do for the last 2 days and now I have to get the tangles out.... (she is not going to be happy with me... )

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | when is a coat considered a cotton coat? when it looks like this: IMG_0638.jpg IMG_0634.jpg notice the general poofiness and texture to the hair. you can see in the photos that there is no shine or silkiness to the coat. it looks fluffed out, thick, and afro-ish. lol morgan is about 6 months in these pictures

| I understand your concerns. This is too difficult to learn this on one example of coat. You need the breeder to give you the input. Its easy to explain the adult cotton. Puppies can fool you. You're at the age it can go either way. A fuzzy face teddy bear today is tomorrow's cotton. Then the next week he breaks blue. LOL LOL It can go either way at this age. |

Is the top of Kaji's head all tan or is it still multi-colored with strands of tan, black, gray, and gold?

| Multicolor. He has been getting lighter, very slowly. But, he still has a "salt and pepper" look to him. The back of his ears are still black, and right in front of his ears as well.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | yeah morgan is still like that too. its been "dulling" over the years compared to when she was a puppy but its still quite noticeable and different then the tan of her legs. her legs are a uniform tan. her body isn't as black as it used to be either but its still pretty dark. plus depending on the length of the hair and the time of the year there can be grey sections. her hair is constantly changing.

Kaji is/was going through a phase where he had a pretty prominent grey area right down his back. It started mid back and went down to his tail. I can hardly tell now, but it could be because I'm letting his hair grow and the longer darker hair hides it.

| I've attached a picture of my Chewie. He has a cottony coat. He is like a little bear, hair mats easily and grows very fast. I had him shaved down twice. Now, I cut his hair myself with a pair of scissors and keep his hair short. I have 4 Yorkies and with mine, Chewie has a red reflection in his eyes, while the other 3 have green. (I call his coat chocolate caramel, just because I like chocolate caramel, ha)
