| Handmade bow opinions needed! I've been making MuShu's bows in my spare time, and I would like some opinions on these. Please be honest! 1. My first good bows. 2. Summer-ish bows 3. My amateur attempt at show dog bows. 4. Bow-tie style. (If you have any suggestions or tips, please share them )

| Good job! I'd suggest putting the little 1/4" latex grooming bands on the back of the bows rather than the big pony tail elastics. Your bows will stay in much better. |

| i don't make dog bows, but i make bows for my daughter - very much the same except for size! those look great! one question? do you burn the ends to prevent fraying? i know there are more sophisticated ways, but after i snip the ends, i use a cigarette lighter to seal the ends. you can't tell at all (no burn marks) and it keeps the edges from fraying. just a suggestion - looks as though there are some loose threads there where you cut the ends in a V shape. |

Also, I use clear nail polish at the ends. Most of the time it works, but sometimes it doesn't..

| stop fraying Hi, I have made a few bows and you can get products to stop fraying at a craft store. I got mine at Michael's, not sure if you have that store in the US but I think you do. I got my products for stiffening the bows there too. Audrey |

| Haha I'm not in the U.S. right now. I wish Korea had a Michaels's but they don't. Well at least not in my area. Do you know what I could use as a substitute for the stiffening as well?

| Those are co cute! Making your own bows is a great alternative to buying them because sometimes they cost so much. I don't know how people can charge over even $1 for such tiny bows when you can make your own for like 1 cent. |

| oh yeah, it won't ruin them. just take a lighter and hold it under the edge of the bow - swipe the flame across the part that needs to be sealed - it's like magic. you can practice on a piece of ribbon before you make a bow just to see how it works. |

| Your bows are pretty! Good job! I am with everyone else on sealing the edges. I use a lighter or fraycheck on my bow edges. Also, you can go online to www.hair-hardware.com and find some tiny alligator and french barrette clips and sew them on the back. I don't know if they ship to Korea but it is worth a try.....ebay is always a great stop too! I have gotten cute ribbon and buttons from there often Good luck!! Bowmaking is fun!!!
