Sunshine and Beamer have I suppose what is called a hard silk coat. It is a little bit coarse feeling but does not mat easily. very thick
Rainbow has a modified coat. very fine part silky/ part soft or cottony, she can mat easier than the others and takes the longest to brush out after grooming
Baby Sonny is goint to be silky but is still in between the puppy coat and a sliky coat and he mats easily where the puppy coat transitions to the silky coat

I got the Fruit of the Groomer Pek maracuja shampoo and conditioner ( for a COTTON COAT) It worked perfect for all of them
I also got the SIL Plus (it just takes a few drops) I mixed a few drops into the shampoo and also added 2 drops to my hands and rubbed it into the damp towel dried coat before blow drying. I also got the H270 2 phase equalizer and sprayed the coat prior to drying.
I agree to call and talk to the seller. she is knowledgeable and can tell you exactly what would work best for your pets


OH yea, for any that need to protect the coat for showing.. I also got the K100 palm oil. It is NOT a liquid. You just rub your fingers over it and rub it into the coat and it is PERFECT for protecting Sonny's coat while we grow it for show and also to wrap.

I ordered way too much but they sound soo good that I just went crazy. Linda called me after I emailed her with questions and gave me suggestions for the gang and I went with them. Someone in the past recommended Redkin and I have been using that on myself as I was not thrilled with the way it left my dogs coat. When I run out of redkin I can go to the Yorkie splash and shine I got that too (lol).

Oooh, I can't wait to see what you got and how you like it. This stuff is a little addictive...at least it is for me. :p

Jackie! You are going to love this stuff! It does a wonderful job on Libby's hair and I think her and Wyatt have the same coat. I wish I knew you were ordering as I would've added a few things to your order for me! Can't wait to hear what you think!

I used it on Sonny. Of course he is just apuppy (22 weeks).. but I like it a lot. I was surprized and puzzled when I first opened the container of K100. It looked like the consistance od a candle.. but when I rubbed my fingers over it.. it coated my fingers and I rubbed it on his coat and it definitely oiled it and took all dryness away. His coat isn't long enough yet to wrap, but I think it will work as good or better than any oils I have used before.

Has anyone used their Mink Oil?

I've never used mink oil before but I've been wanting to try it. Or is mink oil mainly used for show dogs?

I use the mink oil. I mix it with the green apple shampoo. My groomer uses it this way also.

wow sounds like every one loves this product! due to mail problems I never got the sample Jenn sent me so i may just jump on the band wagon and order me the Pek Conditioner...after reading all the post i see there are 2 color of the conditioner....can some one tell me what the difference is between them?

also is there a reason why everyone is buying the green apple shampoo/conditioner? what is it's purpose? does it work better than MinkSheen....which i love?

Mary, I'm sorry you didn't get the sample I mailed. I will send out another one. I originally sent you the maracuja but now have also the green pek - I will send out a sample tomorrow of the green. To me, both PEK's work about the same, but I do like the original green a little better than the maracuja, maybe bc it's a little thicker.

The green apple shampoo and conditioner are formulated for yorkie's coats. I tried the minksheen and didn't care for it but I do like the green apple shampoo - I don't use the green apple conditioner, just the PEK. I think Linda recommends you mix the green apple conditioner with some PEK for the best results.

I highly recommend the Silplus. I use it as finisher after blow drying. I also take a dab and rub it over the coat before Lacey's daily brushing. I have been using these products for a month and it has changed the texture of Lacey's coat.

aww that is sweet of you...but as far as the difference between the green and maracuja.....does it work differently on hair texture? i mean i have Mei Ling who is a silky and the other two is a soft or modified coat....which one would work for them?

It is like an oil that comes in a pump bottle. A little goes a long way. I am not familiar with the Vellus products. The silplus leaves a nice shine and makes brushing easy.

IT was bath day yesterday and I'm even MORE impressed - Used the new tropiclean on Cheri with the PEK then the Mink sheen with PEK on Chanel (thick hair) and both look beeeeeutiful !

I left the conditioner on longer and can;t believe how flat Chanels hair is - I eve did a braid again with her long topknot and it is laying right where it should be - instead of sticking up some -

When you have one silky and one cotton coat it gets tricky finding the right products ! I think I've found a new system that works for both girls !!!!

Ok...I have fallen behind on keeping up here. What is and where do I get this shampoo? I love it when my babies come from the groomer. They are so soft and silky but she won't tell me what she is using. I have to be careful with Harley or he gets itchy. Maybe I should order some of this and give it a try.

Kathy, I can send you a sample of the PEK conditioner. It's the conditioner (more so than shampoo) that makes such a huge difference. After using the sample, you'll love it and probably want to place an order for it and shampoos. PM your address to me and I'll get a sample out to you today along with a couple of others I'm sending out.

Vee....I'm thrilled you are so impressed with this stuff. With all the hype about other products, the PEK is the only one I've ever found to live up to expectations.

You're right......I can't emphasize enough......the longer you leave this product in before rinsing, the silkier their coats will be. I use it like a deep conditioner you would for your own hair.

The more I read the more I can't wait to get the sample...i am not bathing anyone until the sample gets here....although they all need a bath badly.....lol....

I got my order last night and noticed one of the items was missing. No note in the box so I thought, "oh, boy are they going to believe me that the item was missing"? I made a phone call about it and within 10 minutes I got a call back and an explanation of why it was missing (back ordered). Great customer service. I can't wait till Saturday to try all the new products out. Thanks, Jen for starting the thread.

I was thinking of mixing the sil plus with the gloss and maybe a little PEK to make a daily spray. Is this a good idea or should I just plan to use everything separately? But then, I really do need a good daily brushing spray.

Bonny the sil plus directions say to mix it with a shampoo (which I don't understand, bc you would think the shampoo would wash away the benefits of the sil plus?) But you might try it that way. I'm going to bathe Louis in a bit here and will try that first.

I don't know what the directions on the gloss are, but you might try a few drop of that along with the PEK and then some water for a daily brushing spray. I use watered down PEK for a daily brushing spray all the time.

Linda and Baxter are very nice and always call me right back, they are great to work with!

Hmm, I just looked at sil plus on the ISB website and it does say to mix it with shampoo to protect the dog's skin. I'd never noticed it said that before. Just below that is the "recipe" that gave me the idea to come up with a spray, except I was going to substitute the PEK for the mink oil:

TIP: For a universal (and economical) finishing spray which nourishes, protects and imparts a nice shine, add the following to a spray bottle filled with warm water: 6-10 drops of mink oil, 2-3 squirts of Sil plus and a tiny capful of gloss.

This may be too much for a daily spray, maybe more of a weekly one? Anyway I'm excited to try it all. I just wish those tiny directions on the bottles would be in larger print. :p
