| I thought I would try it myself and even studied up on it on the internet watching how to videos and then when I got Nigel down to try it he would not sit still and thought I was playing with him and kept trying to bite my comb and I finally said this isn't going to work...I gave up!

| I now groom both yorkie and SHih tzu pup myself. Actually my Yorkie , Suzi is a lot easoer to groom then my Tzu . Maybe it is because she is younger then Suzi , I do not know. I am no expert , but, my father gave me a grooming table which I love . I also have cippers and blow dryer. I use a conditioning spray after their bathed , the blow their hair . I just groomed miely my tzu yesterday. She was pretty good too. Keeping up with the grooming and doing it yourself creates a closer bond between u and your dog, that is what I think. I had to shave down Suzi a few nonths ago , and did an ideal job on her, it was not easy because she was matted due to my niece bathing her and not keeping up with the grooming when I was hospitalized. I enoy placing pony tails or top knots on the hair, but the top knots can be tricky with a dog who won't hold still. I am so proud of myself for doing the grooming myself. It saves the stress of being and going to a groomer, in a cage, and the car ride, + the amount of money spent. It is rather fun to groom them yourself, especially if u have more then one high end , dog that requires lots of grooming.

| I just do it myself and consider it a bonding experience. Kaji is a wiggle worm sometimes but not when it comes to grooming. It could be because he's not a pup, he's just so calm! The first time I was so scared of even touching him and I think he knew since he squirmed a lot. I keep him nice and short so I do cut his hair once every 6 weeks or 4 weeks. He sleeps now! He will lay on the newspaper (to catch all the hair ) and sleeps while I clip his body hair away, he doesn't flinch or notice the clippers anymore. I'm not to confident with the face since I do leave it longer but I'm learning. I just go real slow and treat him for his patience.
