|  I agree with the stare down! You have to do that with pups that are nasty like that. I usually firmly grasp around the muzzle or the beard. Obviously as a groomer you cannot hurt a dog, but being firm with them is a necessity to establish yourself as the leader. A dominant dog will stare down another dog and the more submissive dog will look away. Furrow your eyebrows and widen your eyes so the whites show prominently.
