| oster clipper for hair good enough for clipping dogs? I just bought a Oster Classic 76 clipper and looking on the web I see it's a hair clipper for humans! . I will use it for several breeds, poodle, yorkie, schnauzer etc. Is this a clipper that will do the job and last long? I am not a professional groomer but at the price they are I want it to last years. I thought oster only made animal clippers . When I talked to the saleman I made it clear it was for my dogs. Please someone who knows oster clipper let me know. If I should get a different one I will return it and shop elsewhere. Thanks,

Here's the ones I suggest using, since they are made for grooming dogs and you say you'll be doing several breeds. Turbo A-5 Single Speed. A-5 Single Speed Turbo A-5 Two Speed A-5 Two Speed Clipper. Groom Master Clipper Kit - A heavy dutty clipper specificall designed for wide blade action. Check them out on petsuppliesdelivered.com You'll also need a Whal Peanut for doing those yorkie ears.

| There is definately a difference in dog clippers and human hair clippers. I loaned my 1000 dollars worth of blades and clippers to a lady thinking she was going to use them on her husband and when she brought them back they were ruined. She had used them on her poodle. Dog hair is a different texture and will dull the blades very badly and it is not cheap to replace the Oster blades. My clippers were so packed with dog hair that I never could get it all out. Oster does however make great dog clippers also.

| I think the best place to look for Oster Classic 76 Professional clipper is Amazon.com. You will find different models and price ranges with free shipping options. Here is a good review about Oster classic 76 clippers. I would stay away from anything under $30. Oster makes some $20 ones, but they are crappy. I think, the more $$ the higher quality it usually is when it comes to clippers. |
