i use scissors to cut all over... from tip of ears to tail... boots doesnt like the clippers' noise.
i just think its easier and less of a fuss. :D

I use the Peanut trimmer too. I got it at Sally's Beauty supply. My best friend is a groomer and she always uses a Peanut trimmer on my pup's ears and feet. I just used it for the first time last week and was very happy with how his ears turned out. :D

This is the one I have. That's a good price too!

I use Wahl Pocket Pro. It's tiny & doesn't make alot of noise & inexpensive. It has a 40 blade (surgical shave), so I only run it over the flat tip (1/4) of the ear (inside & out) once. NEVER run a clipper on the outer edges of the ears...it can seriously hurt & cut. I use blunt edge small scissors for the edges.

I read all the recommendations here and ordered a Wahl Peanut from Amazon...it just came an hour ago!

I'm looking at the darn thing and am totally intimidated...I've never used clippers in my life. :eek: I want to do Zoey's ears, rosebud (;)), and the bottom of her pads. Should I use the 1/8" guide or the bare blade???

You would start 1/3 of the way down and clip toward the ear tips, right? How should I do her pads? And her delicate little bud?

I can't seem to play videos any more on my ancient puter, so I have to read how and pray. :(

Argh.

I'm just afraid i'll accidentally cut her again :( But i know i should trim the ears.

BE CAREFUL!!! Look at my album and you can see what the groomer did to my baby Coco!!:eek: Gnarled up my babies ear. I am very upset about his ear. I trim it bit only about 1/4" up the side gently with the scissor. My babies will never go to a groomer again. I bought a clipper and gave them a summer cut this past weekend. They came out very good concidering it was the first time I did it. They were so cooperative. Just do alittle and when they get antsy, just stop and do more later.

If you are trying to get her ears to stand the best thing to do would be to trim almost all of the hair off the ear. The hair will all grow back and once the ears are standing and stable only continue to shave the top 1/3 of the ear. A beard/mustache trimmer works best.

Yes, use those eyebrow shaver things you get at beauty supply store. they work great. The sound of the buzzer usually scares them.

The eyebrow shavers look like this. Very inexpensive, find them out drug store or beauty supply. Or google "eyebrow shaver" for internet order.

:) I never thought about using an eyebrow trimmer before...
but i succeeded with using the scissors on her ears after i bathed her. she fell asleep in the towel and i trimmed her up. and around her eyes too. she looks good :D

Well, I\'m still desperate for help, and haven\'t had the nerve to try it. :( I have another question...if I use the 1/8" guide, will it then be impossible to hurt her?
