| OMG all the hair! I have let Buddy's coat come in since last Oct wanting to see him with a full coat for the first time. He has a very silky coat and it was starting to really look pretty with highlights of gold running threw the black but he needed a trim. When I got him up on the table all of a sudden I didn't know where to start being a new grooming owner because he had so much hair! I mean hair everywhere. I have done his ears, face and feet and legs in the past with no problem but never had I done his coat with any length to it. OMG so much hair. He is 16lbs and two of those lbs. is hair! I couldn't trim it I didn't know where to start so I shaved him down again. Two hrs later he went from a Yorkie gentleman to a puppy again I wish I had taken pictures of all the hair. I did take pictues of before and after but didn't get them posted yesterday. Buddy now looks so little to me. It's like having a new puppy again, so I think this will be his forever cut. I shaved his back and it's like black velvet. What a little face he has after seeing him with so much hair on his face. I kept the hair on his legs longer. I was panicked to be sure when I started but two hrs later a puppy emerged and he looks so darn cute. What a good boy he was sitting for me all that time. I think he felt so much better without the hair. I just wanted to share my terrifying experience of grooming Buddy for the first time with long hair. I won't be pushing my luck with a longer coat anytime in the future. I have learned my lesson well. |

| Me too! I'm contemplating cutting Lola short. I just don't know if I can bring myself to do it! Sure would be a lot less work. |

| It is so much easier for sure but I really wanted to let his coat come in. It's so pretty but like I said when I went to trim it I was completely lost. My God all the hair. It was so thick around the neck but looked so pretty with that yorkie part going down his back. I will try to get pictures posted ASAP. I did take them. I won't let it get any longer than it is which is about 1/4". LOL Can't handle any more than that at any one time I now realize. |

| awwww cute! I would LOVE to grow out Fletchers coat but like you, too much hair! haha I let it grow out most of the winter and it was about 4 inches long all over and he smelled all the time. I finally shaved them down 2 weeks ago (both my boys) and its like having pups again. I think they love it, they both sat really good for me! All that hair must be a lot for them too! I can't wait to see pics of Buddy before and after! He is SUCH a handsome boy!!!

| That's what I did with Harley. He's always had a fairly long coat, but I wanted to grow him out more (face too). I am having another baby soon, so I decided to cut it really short (his legs are still long, though). I couldn't believe how much smaller he looks. He really does look pretty cute and he's a lot less work. I do miss his beautiful hair, but he looks great now matter how his hair's cut. Can't wait to see pics of Buddy too! I bet he looks handsome.

| Me too! My son (4 1/2 yrs old) actually told me that Harley didn't look like our dog anymore. He said he looked like somebody else's. I thought it was funny.

| I can definitely relate...i tried to grow all my girls out this winter but they looked like bottlebrushes as their hair stood straight out. In clothes they all looked like butterballs. I couldn't stand it anymore and now they are all cut short again. It sure is a lot easier with multiples to have their hair short. Princess is the only one that still has her long hair. She would look like an empty paper towel roll with legs if she didn't have her long skirt! LOL!! Where are those piccies??? |

| I prefer a puppy cute on thick or cotton coated dogs. My Azrael has extremely thick coat so I keep it short. Hope you post before and after pictures.
