| So...we've gone about a week or so with new brushes and calming talk, music, detangler, the whole bit...Nozzle still absolutely hates it. He starts shaking before we've even started! Sometimes, if it's a good session and Mommy was patient, he'll snap out of it pretty quickly with the help of a squeaky toy. If Nozzle is the impatient one he gets held down to finish, and those days take a lot longer to recover from. I try giving him treats, but at the end he's shaking so bad he doesn't hold it in his mouth. I've been reading that you shouldn't acknowledge your dog's fears because that will just teach him it's ok to be afraid of it...but what do you do when he's afraid of you and your grooming??? I try to keep it short, not pull his skin when he's got knots, etc...but I'm a "get it done right" kinda person so I would rather do the whole job-brush, blow dry, etc-than only part of it. |

| Try groomin him on your lap...I do Mimi's hair on my lap, she's a lot calmer & she doesn't wiggle around & move if she were on a table or counter. For Momo, I give him a bully stick or a kong w/a ziggie in it & I can pretty much do anything to him!
