| grooming style choices here's my dilemma. Madison is 8 mos old. I've had her since 5 mos. The breeder had never cut her hair. I Haven't either. I don't want her full length to the floor. as like show dogs. But I don't want puppy cut either. I like being able to do top knots and I like the feathering ( is that what you call it?) around the face and legs. Right now her torso hair is just about to her legs. I've searched and searched the internet for some pictures of different yorkies and they are either puppy cut short or full length. Is there any where either on this site or on the internet to see yorkie hairstyles/options. My father in law's yorkie is cut in a westie cut with the long 'mustache' not sure I like the shaved back... I just would like some input as to what options are out there. thanks....... |

| I have Gracie Ruth cut in a long puppy cut and leave her top knot and ears long. I had them shorten the beard some as I thought it was making her look old. I leave the hair on her legs a little long also, as she is very petite and would look like a bad stick drawing otherwise. 1) Before 2 & #) After 4) Copy of picture I took with me to show to the groomer. Now G's hair is such that it wouldn't do what this dogs does on the legs, but it worked to show the groomer the length I was going for.

YT 1000 Club Member | Here's Roxie with an E-comb. That was this past summer. I like it in the summer but in the winter a little longer. I always like her face and ears clean clipped in the yorkie style. I don't keep her long or too short. I like her skirt to hang below her tummy just a little. I keep thinking of growing her long but I always end up thinking she just looks so messy and get her groomed. My groomer says she has the perfect coat for it to be long because it doesn't tangle and matt. Keep trying a few things each time you go and soon you'll discover one that you like and works best for you. |

| roxies mom what does e-comb mean? sorry for the dumb question but I'm new to yt. how old is roxie? she's a cutie. thanks for the advice. we have yorkie playdate daily with 6 yorkies and 5 of them stay in puppy cut and 1 is full length to the ground. I'd like to be somewhere in the middle right now Madisons hair hangs down to below her tummy on the sides and she doesn't get matted. we brush her in the morning. her 'mustache' gets crusty from eating and drinking and sniffing on the ground outside. thats the hardest for her right now is holding still to clean her face. she holds still for topknots and brushing but we are still working on her hold still for face washing and brushing. |
