grooming underside of a male yorkie?

I've searched for this thru the threads and haven't found anything, I need help in what to do. Do you groom the underside of your yorkie near their private? Brady just had a bath, and he is smelling of urine there again.

Hum, I'm about to give my male his first bath. Yes, i will trim the under side and doa "sanitary cut" on the back side.
He is 5 mo and i got him from a show breeder that showed me how to do this. Luckliy for me he's used to being groomed and he sits still for me. I guess that's key, if he's calm to allow you to do this.

I shave the underside of my males and my female. It keeps them cleaner and they don't matt as much

how far up to the neck do you shave? i wanted to do this to bentley but did not want to shave too much off hehe

I don't know how others do it but this works for me: I stand them up on their hind legs, hold their front paws up with my left hand, and start shaving from below the fringe on their neck - right between their front legs and go all the way down to the inside of their back legs. I leave the side fringes so it hides their naked bellies. You can't tell they're shaved unless you turn them over on their backs
