| puppy cut to long coat? HI all, So I'm wanting to grow Izzys coat long for the winter, I'm just not sure what to do other than wait. She gets runny eyes so her nose hairs are shorter and I was trying to grow them out, but they seemed like they were poking her in the eyes, so i trimmed them down.. not sure if that was a mistake or not. I know i should post pics, but i'm at work and don't have recent ones here. I'll take some tonight and post them on here. What do you do with their leg/paw hairs when they get into a long coat? Do i need to take her to a groomer for a transition cut? She does have a cottony-ish coat, but she had a longer coat when we got her in may. Any advice!?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Petsilk topknot gel is great for growing out those nose hairs and keeping them from poking the eyes. I've been growing Joey's coat for over a year, and I give him a sanitary cut that includes the tummy and bum. I shave the top third of the ear, and trim around each ear tip, and pull out hair from ear canal. I cut the hair on the pads of the feet and trim around each paw. I also cut the longest layer of hair so that it would be all one length, but this isn't necessary, and it will look longer faster, if you don't do this.
