Do all yorkies have the potential to grow a full coat?

I give my three a teaspoon of coconut oil once a day...makes their coat so soft, coconut oil has other benefits as well.

There are different kinds. Some people use Argon oil, which is popular for human hair too. Argon is a type, not a brand, and quality is key for effectiveness.

A popular oil brand with exhibitors is Summerwinds to protect against coat damage and promote strong growth.

If I understand correctly, the oil is used when wrapping a Yorkie coat. If you aren't wrapping, I would use it sparingly because you don't want to coat the skin with it. Either way, it does leave an oily appearance and is meant as a treatment and not as a hair dressing.

It's fun to see this thread knowing that Rory grew up to have a beautiful coat.

I learned from Nancy's post why my own hair grows like a weed.

A few people addressed the main reason my boys do not have coats sweeping the floor -- too much dragging along pavement, carpet surfing, bed snuggling . . .
