|  Shaving tummy? No one here knows how to groom a yorkie properly, but I have heard that you need to shave their tummies. Do any of you do that?

| i dont shave her tummy.. but i will trim around her 'private area' & definitely her lil butt(just underneath the tail  ) i do keep her tummy trimmed though.. i just don't shave it

| Hi! I alway shave the tummy, unless a customer asks me not to. It keeps the boys clean for one, but also the tummy is one of the primary places that a dog looses heat. And it is HOT here in the south, so anything that helps keep cool is a definite plus!

| Thank you for the replies. I started shaving Cash's tummy because he used to get matts there no matter how much I brushed him. He seems a bit happier - more free  without the tummy hair.
