| Carens Grooming Hi - I'm a new yorkie owner in Jacksonville, got Harley almost 14 weeks ago. Because of her puppy coat, I found that she was matting very easily on a daily basis. I started to brush her twice a day and still was unable to keep up with the mats...most likely due to the puppy coat. Anyway - I called my vet and asked if he could recommend a reputable groomer and he referred me to Caren's Grooming - Corner of San Quan Ave. & Blanding Blvd. She's only been once, and I ended up having her shaved down to get rid of the puppy hair. However, she did really good and was happy go lucky when I picked her up. This leads me to believe that they were gentle and loving with her. In addition, they've been in business along time. Like most grooming shops, when you walk in, it may look a little dingy, but I assure you that they did a really good job on Harley and it was cheap compared to some places I called. Cost me $30 and they bathed, shaved, brushed, cleaned ears, clipped nails, eyes, anal glands and teeth. Can't beat it. She was ready in 1 hour, 10 minutes to be picked up. I plan on taking her back every 6 weeks. Oh, and when I went in, there were 8 other yorkies being groomed. So I believe that they are very familiar with this breed and it's needs. Good Luck! |
