Gracie goes for her first professional grooming this Monday. I'm excited because the shop I'm going to is also an accredited grooming school and they're giving me a private lesson using Gracie so I can groom her myself.

I'll have to take some before and after pics. Hopefully I'll be a good student...

That's so cool that you get a lesson. I would love that. Post pictures after the grooming.

Good luck! I groom mine myself, but I am a hairdresser by trade, so it made it a little easier.......not much, though! lol I also recently bought a grooming video from "SueNCricket2", here on YT.....it is a really great video.

You're so lucky! I wish there was a place around here that I could get a quick lesson from. Gracie looks great!

Thank you all. It was interesting and being Gracie's first professional grooming she was quite tuckered out...she slept the rest of the day.

Gracie is about 10 months old. She did great for her first grooming session. When trimming Gracie's legs, muzzle etc. she used regular shears first then went back with thinning shears to avoid that choppy look. Around the eyes, the pads of her feet and "under the hood" (her bottom, that's my vets term) she used clippers. Most of what I learned is visual from watching her do it as she explained it to me.
