| Cushing's Disease is an overactive adrenal gland which causes dogs to become very thirsty and hungry. Their muscles waste while their internal organs grow to 3 times their normal size which gives them a pot bellied look. The medicines are to help with the symptoms but do not cure the disease. MOst of the medicines for Cushing's actually can cause worse problems so I have never given them to her. She has outlived the estimate given by the vet and I have already been through this once because her Mom, Molly(RIP) had cushing's also. Mindy gets yeasty ears which itch and that is her biggest problem. But she is not in pain and I think she likes being deaf because she doesn't have to obey and listen to me!!
